Grief & Loss

Grief is a natural response to loss, and there is no right way or right timescale to experience it. Loss can relate to a death, but also to a relationship, health, a role, a pregnancy or a future you had imagined.

What it can feel like

Grief can bring sadness, anger, guilt, relief, numbness or disbelief, often in waves. Some people find it hard to function day to day; others feel they are coping outwardly but struggling privately.

Sometimes grief feels stuck, or is complicated by the circumstances of the loss or by other difficulties happening at the same time.

How therapy may help

Therapy can offer time and space to talk about the person or thing you have lost, make sense of difficult feelings, and gradually find a way of carrying the loss alongside the rest of life.

How we work with this

We go at your pace. Your Clinical Psychologist will work with you to understand what you need right now, whether that is space to talk, help with particular aspects of the loss, or support with how it is affecting other areas of life.

If you’d like to talk it through
