Identity & Life Transitions

Periods of change, whether chosen or not, can unsettle our sense of who we are. Starting or leaving a job, becoming a parent, a relationship ending, moving, retiring or a change in health can all raise questions that are hard to answer alone.

What it can feel like

Some people feel unsure about who they are or what they want, or notice that the life they have built no longer quite fits. Others feel caught between different expectations, values or parts of their identity.

Transitions can bring a mix of feelings, including loss, excitement, anxiety and uncertainty, sometimes all at once.

How therapy may help

Therapy can offer space to reflect on what is changing, what matters to you and what you would like the next stage to look like. Approaches such as ACT can be helpful in clarifying values and making choices that feel more like your own.

How we work with this

We will work collaboratively to understand what this change means for you and what would be useful. Online sessions can make therapy easier to maintain during periods of upheaval or relocation.
